Power Seats: Initial Inspection
This question reminds us of the importance of an initial inspection. Finding something jammed into the seat track during an initial inspection can save time and trouble. This binding is not good for the electrical motor or linkage. This is the first place to look and the most likely choice.
An intermittent open like a loose plug would result in on and off or no operation. A short to ground would likely burn the circuit's fuse. The short must be found and repaired before installing a new fuse. If the short is not repaired, the fuse will blow again. An open would result in no motor operation when the switch is pressed.
